Welcome to Our Precious Scholars my name is Alena but all the kids call me Mrs. "Lena". I have worked in the field of child care for over 10 years, I have my Bachelor’s degree in Human services. My background before starting my own child care facility includes working as a teacher's aide in the Henrico County public school system; a major portion of my duties included working with children with disabilities as well. I have also worked as a lead teacher at a large day care center. I possess a CDA(child development association), CPR, and MAT certification.
I am a proud mother of two. I decided to open my own child care center after witnessing the mediocre care and attention my oldest child(who was diagnosed with autism) was receiving at a large day care center. However I was able to turn such an unfortunate situation into a positive one. The bad experiences my child received at more than one day care center inspired me to start my own. I wanted to give worried parents just like me an opportunity to drop their child off at a place where they can receive the loving care they deserve while learning the necessary tools they will need to succeed in the future at an affordable rate.
My husband and I first opened our doors to little ones in 2011, and we have enjoyed every minute of it. We have had the pleasure of meeting dozens of young children along with the wonderful parents that have supported our center and entrusted their children to remain in our care. We have gained an enormous amount of experience as our mission is to inspire and mold the lives of young children in a positive way and we hope to do the same for you and your family if you give us the opportunity.
